"We are thrilled to announce, retiring to stud at #WiddenVictoria is blue-blooded Group 1 winning juvenile King Colorado, at a fee of $16,500inc," Widden Stud posted on X.
"The first Australian Group 1 winning 2YO to retire to a Victorian Stud in four years."
King Colorado won two races from 11 starts, but contested last year's Cox Plate following his fourth-placed effort in the Caulfield Guineas.
His J.J Atkins Stakes triumph came at his third starts, beating Miss Finland's ill-fated daughter, Miracle Of Love.
He joins a long list of high-profile retirements in recent weeks, including Imperatriz, Militarize, Cylinder, King's Gambit and Ozzmosis.
